UV-C devices & accessories
UV-C devices change the DNA of the drifting algae so that they clump together and thus become easier for the filter to detect. The UV radiation is invisible to us, the blue glow of the lamps is not an indicator for the emission of UV-C rays. After about 8,000 hours of operation, the lamp should be replaced at the latest, as it then emits almost no more UV radiation. Turbidity of the water can already occur after only 5,000 hours of operation, as most lamps already have less than 50% of their UV output at this point. Avoid frequent switching on and off of the lamps, as each start shortens the life span.
