Rieselfilter (auch Tropffilter genannt) bieten eine extrem effektive biologische Filtration. Der Filter wird über dem Becken oder dem Teichniveau installiert.
Die einzelnen Filterkammern sind übereinander angeordnet und jeweils mit einem Filtermedium (z.B. Helix) befüllt. Das Wasser wird in die oberste Kammer gepumpt und dann durch den Sprühstab gleichmäßig über dem Filtermedium verteilt, wodurch das Wasser durch alle Kammern nach unten fällt (tropft). Dadurch wird das Wasser mit viel Sauerstoff angereichert und es wird keine zusätzliche Sauerstoffanreicherung durch eine Luftpumpe benötigt.
