Clay is a precious gift of nature. Our clay was formed about 150 million years ago. This clay is extracted in open pits, carefully prepared, finely ground and granulated into beads. At a fiery heat of over 1200°C, this clay granulate is fired in a rotating rotary kiln without artificial additives, pesticides or dyes. This process technology makes the outer skin and the core extremely porous and creates a large surface area for the settlement of bacteria. Colonisable surface 140 m3 per litre. Ideally, the clay granulate is filled into filter media bags for multi-chamber filters (must be ordered separately!). This makes cleaning the filter easier, as the mesh bags are easy to remove . Developed for larger filter chambers. Reaches almost 100 % of its filter performance in approx. 4 - 6 weeks. Can be left in the filter for a very long time. Is subsequently a good water reservoir and thus contributes to soil improvement. Much lighter than gravel! This filter sand / filter gravel is a natural raw material that is turned into a high-quality industrial mineral by means of the most modern processing techniques. The products meet the requirements of DIN standards EN 12904, DIN EN 15798 and DIN 4924 and are therefore suitable for use in drinking water treatment, for the treatment of swimming and bathing pool water and for well construction. The filter sand / filter gravel is also ideal for aquariums, koi ponds and pools.

Hel-X Flakes werden aus HDPE Recyclat hergestellt und bieten eine extrem hohe Oberfläche (>5.000m²/m³), wodurch eine große biologische Oberfläche auf kleinstem Raum erzielt wird. Hel-X Flakes eignen sich hervorragend zum Einsatz in "moving bed" Systemen. Auch kann dieses Filtermedium optimal in den CL Kombitrommelfiltern von EPS eingesetzt werden. Unsere Trommelfilter wurden so konstruiert, dass in den Prallwänden keine Schlitze vorhanden sind, sondern 10mm Bohrungen, damit die Flakes nicht von der Pumpe angezogen werden. Das heißt, auch bei den kleinen Kombifiltern mit 150 Liter Biomasse im "moving bed" Verfahren können 1-2kg Futter am Tag abgebaut werden. Bei optimaler Sauerstoffversorgung und passender Temperatur.

This filter medium has proven itself in garden pond filters for years. In multi-chamber filter systems, these mats are used from the 2nd filter chamber onwards. The microbiology can settle on the large surface and thus break down the pollutants in the pond water. Oyster shells - KH and pH alwaysin orderOyster shells have a distinctly stabilising effect on the carbonate hardness of the water (KH value) and thus also on the acidity (pH value). We supply clean and disinfected oyster shells of high quality. It is often assumed that with slightly harder tap water no problems with the KH and pH value would arise. The KH value is considered to be a buffer of the pH value of the water to a certain degree. Fish, plants and biological filters break down the carbonate hardness of the water. If then, for example in winter, little water is renewed, the KH value can quickly drop too far. Even in times with a lot of precipitation, the KH value decreases rapidly. This has serious consequences for the fish, because it can lead to a so-called pH crash - a sudden sharp drop in the pH value.In many cases, the KH value in the fish pond is not measured frequently enough. Only when problems occur, i.e. when it is actually already too late, are measures taken, for example in the form of adding agents such as KH+ powder. However, KH+ powder has some disadvantages:- a lot of powder quickly disappears via the bottom drain or the filter system- the short-term boost effect causes large fluctuations in the water values- constant measurements and further powder additions are necessary. Oyster shells provide a complete, longer-term stabilisation of the KH and pH values. The shells only slowly dissolve when the KH drops, buffering the pH value. Completely independent of the amount of precipitation, water renewal or the time of year, the oyster shells keep the KH and pH value in your pond at a stable level. Only when the oyster shells have almost completely dissolved does new material need to be added. Roughly speaking, 1 bag of oyster shells is needed per 10 m³ of water per year; the exact amount depends, of course, on the influences described above and other factors. We supply oyster shells in a net (bag) so that they can easily dissolve. The oyster shells have been washed with chlorine and then dried, which ensures that no harmful bacteria, fungi or germs settle on them. The shells are also excellent as biological filter material in trickle filters or multi-chamber systems.
