Pumps with conventional synchronous motors run synchronously with the frequency of the electric current. They are easier and cheaper to manufacture, but have a decisive disadvantage. They can start up either to the right or to the left. Therefore, they always have a straight rotor so that an acceptable performance is achieved in each case. The Eco pumps save about 50% energy compared to conventional pumps with synchronous motors, because they can have a specially worm-shaped rotor, as the running direction is fixed for these pumps. These Eco pumps run much more quietly and effectively.
